apArt Private Gallery announces its First Ever NY Solo Art Exhibition by Brazilian artist Marcello Serpa. Marcello Serpa will exhibit his acrylic on canvas works at apArt (New York) Oct 5, 2017, from 7pm-11pm – by invite only – with an opening performance by Latin Grammy-nominated Brazilian recording artist Maria Gadú. The “Terebintina” solo exhibition will be open to the public at apArt New York by appointment from October 6 to December 5.
apArt has been a distinguished leader in exhibiting the works of emerging artists from all over the world and thanks to apArt Private Gallery Founder Thais Marin and NY Executive Director Maria Ines Moraes they will now introduce to New York the artistry of Marcello Serpa.
After winning a number of awards as a Creative Director in advertising, in 2015 Marcello Serpa decided that it was time to return to brushes and canvas. Serpa is the first Latin to preside at the Cannes Film Festival in 2000 and is the youngest president in history.
“I grew up smelling the oils of turpentine, creating paintings while I watched my grandfather, an artist from Pernambuco, Brazil, who had a very colorful soul.” -Marcello Serpa
